Creating a Children’s Art Gallery

Most parents of kids know that you are inundated during the school year with amazing and beautiful projects on a weekly basis. These colorful masterpieces, along with perfect test scores and A++ papers deserve a place of honor in the house. If your refrigerator is no longer visible because of all the things on the door, it is time to create a gallery space that is easily changed as the projects come in to the house.

There are many ideas for these temporary displays or art galleries. They can be as simple as a wire or rope hung with clothes pins.  You can rearrange and edit the children’s gallery easily, which is important to manage the constant stream of projects.  You can hang these from floor to ceiling or above a dresser.  Hallways are great for children’s art galleries, as well.

If you want something a little more polished, you can arrange a gallery wall with standard sized frames. As the next great project replaces last week’s star, simply take down the frame and replace the artwork. This is easily done with clip frames.

Sculptures and bigger projects should be kept off the floor.  Shelves in a bookcase or floating shelves on the wall can be the perfect home for three dimensional masterpieces.

Proudly displaying your child’s masterpieces is a great way to show your support.  Creating a system for displaying these artworks that can easily be rearranged and added to will save your walls from numerous holes. And you might be able to see your fridge again.
